You're going to need to get a pet if you want to play GoPets! When you login to the GoPets client for the first time you will be automatically prompted to make your very first pet.

The first thing you will see in the Adopt a GoPet? window is a selection of three cats. Don't want a cat? Look over to the top right & you'll see the option for dogs which you can select instead. More options are coming soon!

There are two sections to the Adopt a Pet window: the GoPet? Selection area & the GoPet? Customization area. Let's go through the GoPet? Selection area first:

There are quite a few arrows on this portion of the Adopt a Pet window. Each of them will rotate the pets in a unique way. The first two right beside the pet will allow you to switch between the three displayed pets. The two bright blue oval buttons below the pet will turn the pet around so you can get a full view of their pattern, & the last two buttons with the numbers "1/6" between them will take you to view three completely different pets.

Pick a GoPet?, then customize it to your liking! You'll want to understand the GoPet? Customization area to the right of the Pet Selection area if you wish to make your pet truly unique:

All changes that you make from the GoPet? Customization area will be displayed automatically on the GoPet? selected in the Pet Selection area, & as mentioned before, the first option in the GoPet? Customization area is for you to select what type of GoPet? you want to adopt. For now you can choose from a dog or a cat by clicking either icon. Whichever you have selected will have an orange outline around its icon:

Next is gender! This is pretty straight forward; just click on either of the blue boxes beside the gender you want your pet to be:

Now it's time to really make your GoPet? unique! After selecting your GoPets' gender you will see the Pattern Customization area. Here you can change everything from the pattern style & coverage to the different colors of your GoPet?!

The first tool from this area is the Pattern Style dropdown menu. Click on it to get some different options for your GoPet?'s pattern, then select one of the options from it to change the selected GoPets' pattern:

Quite a difference! But you may find that the pattern is too much on your GoPet?, which is why there is a Pattern Coverage adjustment bar. With your mouse, drag it to the left or right to change how much the selected pattern dominates your GoPets' coat.

Last for Pattern Customization is colors. In the area following Pattern Coverage you can change your GoPets' coat, belly, & pattern color. Simply click the arrows displayed on the side of each option to generate a new color:

Oops! Did you like the color you previously had? You can still press the button on the opposite side to get that color back.

Now all that's left is to give your GoPet? a name & finalize your New Pet Adoption. Click the box beside Pet Name to type in the name you like for them, then click the button with the arrow in it at the bottom when you are ready to add your new addition to your family.
