Since there are so many options, I am going to give a brief overview as to the functions of each button. Later on, we will go more indepth on how you can actually use these buttons functionally.

There are five buttons at the top of your Friends List:

1. Send Pet :

send your pet to a specific friend of your choosing.

2. View Profile

view the Profile of one of your friends.

3. Block List

this enables you to block a user if they are bothering or harassing you. (Remember to contact GoPets Customer Support if there is ever an issue with another user!)

4. Currently an inactive button.

5. GoVisit

Manage Your GoVisit Access Options. More on GoVisit can be found in the GoVisit Guide.

Underneath those five buttons, there is a small dropdown menu bar that has two parts to it:

1. Show Previous Friend :

when browsing through your friend's Friends List, this will get you back to your own, like a browser's back button.

2. Status :

here you can set your Status as Online or Offline.

Next, there are options for:

1. Show Recieved Ring :

this is actually the view mode for your Friends List - you can set it to view:

- Show All

- Show Sent Rings

- Show Received Rings

- Show Active

2. Buy Ring :

if you want to send a Friendship Ring to a friend, this is the easiest way to do it. You will be directed to the Friendship Ring page in the GoPets Shopping Mall where you can purchase them as gifts. More information on what Friendship Rings are for can be found in the GoVisit Guide.

3. Cancel Ring :

when your list is displayed to show those you have shared Friendship Rings with, a Cancel button will appear. When this button is clicked as a friend is selected, the Friendship Ring that has been shared with that friend will disappear.

Right underneath that, on the right side, is a gage that allows you to see how full your Friends List is. The more full your Friends List, the more green you will see.

Now, to the actual Friends List! By default, it is ordered by screenname. There are different sections of the list:

1. Birthday :

if it's a friend's birthday, a little birthday cake will show up here letting you know!

2. Friendship Ring :

have you shared a Friendship Ring with anyone? If so, a little Friendship Ring icon will appear here.

3. User ID

Your friend's User ID is listed under this category.

4. Status

this is where to see if your friends are Online or Offline.

5.Location

will display your friend's location.

Interaction

Now that you've gotten a hang of the controls, you probably want to interact with your friends. There are plenty of ways to do this!

Right-click Menu

When you right-click on a friend's User ID, there is a dropdown menu with some more options. They are as follows:

1. Send IM

2. Send Pet

3. Send Message

4. Show Friends

5. Show Profile

6. Show Blog

7. Add as Friend

8. Invite to Channel

9. Block

10. Invite pet

11. GoVisit

Sending Instant Messages (IM)

To send your friend a private, Instant Message, choose Send IM. A window will open in GoChat? with only the two of you in it.

Send Pet

If your pets are wearing some new clothes or styling newly colored fur, show them off to your friends! You can do this by choosing your friend's User ID from the list and clicking the Send Pet button. Your Pets' Portraits will pop up, allowing you to choose which pet you want to send. Your pet will then take off towards your friend's Desktop! This can also be done by using the Send Pet option on your Pet's Dropdown Menu. See the Playing With Pets & Items Guide for more information.

Sending Messages

Send an IKU to your friend the easy way! Right click their name, click Send Message, and get started!

Show Friends

If you are ever curious about your friends' friends, or are looking to make new friends that know your friend, this is a good place to go. on the right-click menu from your Friends List there is an option for Show Friends. This will load your selected friend's Friends List. Then you can browse their friends, send your pet, IM them, see their Profile or Blog, and most of all: add them to your Friends List!

Show Profile/Blog

Right-clicking on your friend's ID and choosing Show Profile will bring up their GoPets Profile in the GoPets Browser. This way you can see the date they joined, their interests, etc. as well as their wishlist. Also, Show Blog will bring up their Blog in the same window, so you can see if they have written anything new!

Add as a Friend

If someone catches your eye and you would like to add them to your Friends List, all you need to do is right-click their ID, and choose "Add as a Friend." If a message pops up saying "this user has already requested to be your friend" then they have beat you to it! Then all you have to do is go to the website and approve their request. If that message doesn't pop up, and one that says "you have requested a friend" does, then a Friendship Request has been sent to them to approve.

Invite to Channel

Inviting your friend to a channel means inviting them to the GoChat? Channel that you are in. A fun conversation going on? Add them in!

Block

If a user is harassing you, or bothering you too much, you can right-click their ID and choose Block. Alternatively, you can use the Block button when their ID is selected. Then they will not be able to send you IKUs or messages. Remember, if a user is harassing you, please contact GoPets Customer Support.

Invite Pet

Friends always have cool looking pets, and inviting them over is really fun. To do this, right-click your friend's User ID and choose Invite Pet. Then pick the pet you'd like to invite (or do it again to invite more than one of their pets!) and soon you will have a visitor on your desktop.

GoVisit

GoVisit is basically linked desktops. You can view your friend's Desktop, and they can view yours. More information about it is in the GoVisit Guide.
